The Centre for Refugee Studies (CRS) is an organised research unit
of York University. Founded in 1988, the Centre is successor to
the Refugee Documentation Project, created in 1981 for the conservation
and analysis of research documents and data collected by Operation

CEIFO is a inter-disciplinary research unit established in 1983
at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Stockholm University. Its research

European Council on Refugees and Exiles
The ECRE was formed in 1973 and is in co-operation with over 50
NGOs in Europe working with refugees. They produce the ELENA (European
Legal Network on Asylum) web site for legal practitioners who aim
to promote high standards for the treatment of refugees and asylum
seekers.

Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
The UNDP is the UN's principal provider of development advice, advocacy
and grant support. In recent years, the UNDP has cooperated with
the UNHCR and other UN agencies to deal with displacement, reintegration
and rehabilitation issues on a global level.

Food Programme (WFP)
The WFP was established in 1963 as the United Nations frontline
agency in the fight against global hunger. Since its establishment,

The WHO's most significant missions is for dealing with worldwide
emergency and humanitarian action and strives to provide sufficient
health needs to people who are in war-affected zones.

Amnesty International Refugee Campaign
Amnesty International provides information on their campaign, a
visual introduction to refugee life in their "Refuge" web site,
as well as information on how to become involved with their campaign.

Oneworld
In partnership with numerous UK based NGO's, Oneworld has some of
the latest news developments on refugees. It also provides access
to Peter Stalker's Site which includes information on aspects such
as refugee language matters, employment, and the impact of emigration.

International Organisation for Migration (IOM)
Besides providing the latest news and projects and programmes initiated
for solving various refugee crises, IOM provides a list of government
policies by countries.
Forced Migration Project
The Forced Migration Project focused its work on the former Soviet
Union and its refugee and migration problem, and material is archived
up until August 1999. Their electronic bulletin FM Alert contains
news and updates on various people, places and events concerning
displaced persons.

Danish
Refugee Council
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian
association consisting of 26 member organisations. Its scope includes
both Denmark and international refugees. Recent additions include:
Refugees International (RI)
Based in Washington, D.C., RI was founded in 1979 to help the refugees
of Cambodia and Vietnam. Its main objective is to provide early
warning in cases of mass migration. The Web Site Provides information
on refugees in Chechnya, Great Lakes, Burundi, Bulgaria, and many
more.
Canadian Council for Refugees
As a non-profit organization, CCR is dedicated to promoting refugee
rights in both Canada and abroad.

Refugee Council (NRC)
The Norwegian Refugee Council is one of the most well-known organisations
for dealing with the issue of world-wide IDPs. The organisation
also works on international refugee problems.
American Refugee Committee
Formed in 1978, the American Refugee Committee works towards health
care, training and related assistance to refugees in eight countries.
