WHEN
| When
is the summer school? |
The
International Summer School is an annual event
which takes place in June. The next summer school
will run from Monday
17 June to Friday 21 June 2013.

| Where
is the summer school held? |
At
the Magee campus of the University of Ulster, Northland
Road, Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. INCORE's
offices are situated in Aberfoyle House within the
Magee Campus. See Travel section below for how to
get there.

| What
does the summer school fee cover? |
The
application fee for the summer school covers
tuition, supporting materials and some optional
evening events. University accommodation is available
for the duration of the Summer School at cost
of £141.00 (Pounds
Sterling).

| Are
bursaries available? |
INCORE
regrets that international bursaries are not
available for the International Summer School.
We encourage you to approach your local British
Council office or your local British Embassy
for assistance with funding.

| When
do I pay? |
After
you submit the application form, the Summer
School Selection Panel will consider the merit
of your application. You will be informed via
email as to whether you have been offered
a provisional place on the programme. This
offer is conditional pending receipt of full
payment of fees by cheque, credit card or electronic
bank transfer on or as soon as possible after acceptance of application.

TRAVEL
| How
do I get to Derry/Londonderry? |
Travelling to the University of Ulster- Magee Campus
The
Magee campus is situated on a hillside overlooking
the River Foyle in a mainly residential quarter
of Londonderry. The main entrance of the
Magee campus, is on Northland Road, Derry/Londonderry.

AIR
There
are four airports which serve Derry/Londonderry
Many airlines fly regularly to all of the above
airports, including:

SEA
A
selection of routes and ferry operations are available.
L/Derry is most easily reached from the following
ports:
- Belfast Port which is located 1.5km from the Belfast city centre and L/Derry can be reached via bus, train, taxi or car hire.
- Larne lies 32 Km east of Belfast and again L/Derry can be reached via public transport or private car hire.
- P&O operate
the shortest and fastest crossing between Scotland
and Larne in just 60 minutes. Seacat operates
a service from Troon in Scotland and Heysham
in England to Belfast, and Stena HSS operate
crossings from Scotland to Belfast with a 90
minute service. Norse Irish Ferries operate
an overnight service between Liverpool and Belfast.
RAIL and BUS
L/Derry
train station is located at Duke Street in the
Waterside area of the city and it is served daily
by the Belfast to Derry service. This train stops
at various towns en route including Ballymena,
Coleraine, Portrush, Castlerock and Limavady. The
L/Derry bus station is located on Foyle Street
and is served hourly by the Belfast to Derry service.
There are also are many bus services that operate
within the city and this is a cheap way of getting
around the area. Full details of rail and bus services

A
fifteen minute walk from the city centre brings
you to the Magee campus. Please refer to the maps

| Can
INCORE help me with my visa application? |
Once your application has been accepted and INCORE has received full payment, we can provide you with a formal letter of acceptance and event information to support your visa application. You should ensure that you make payment without delay as INCORE cannot accept responsibility for visa refusal and our cancellation policy will
apply. If you require this supporting
documentation, please inform INCORE as soon
as possible.
If
you require this supporting documentation please
inform INCORE without delay. You
need to provide INCORE with your full contact details including full postal address,
telephone number, fax number and email address. INCORE will send all supporting
documentation directly to you so that you can enclose them with your visa application. The
Visa Office has asked that we do NOT send supporting documentation
to their office therefore please do not ask INCORE to do so.

CANCELLATIONS
| What
if I have to cancel? |
Cancellations
before 17 May 2013 will
be subject to an administration fee of 25%.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations
after this date.
|
ACCREDITATION
| Will
I receive University accreditation for my participation
or University credit? |
The
INCORE Summer School is recognised by the Peace
Operations Training Institute, and may form part
of The Certificate-of-Training In Peace Support
Operations (COTIPSO) Programme. Visit http://www.peaceopstraining.org for

You will also receive a certificate of attendance.

ACCOMMODATION
| What
is the summer school accommodation? |
| Limited
accommodation is provided for six nights from Sunday
16 June until Saturday Morning, 22 June 2013 (inclusive) at
a cost of £141.00 (Pounds
Sterling). Participants will be staying
in an ensuite room in self-catering apartments
with a shared kitchen and dining area. The apartments
are situated in the University of Ulster Student
Village, Duncreggan.
The accommodation charge includes the
provision of bedding/towels/utensils etc with
linen change after the 3rd night’s stay.
Participants should bring their own clothes
hangers, if required.
If you have any special needs such as access to
buildings for example, please let INCORE know as
soon as possible.
If you require additional nights' accommodation
also contact Anne Mullan, Residential and Conference
Services, at a.mullan@ulster.ac.uk. Please note
that additional nights are subject to availability.
Accommodation can only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
If
you do not want to avail of the
basic university accommodation you may
book off-campus accommodation if you wish. Please
refer to www.derryvisitor.com for
further details, and please note this needs to
be done personally and cannot be done through the
University or INCORE.
Shopping/Catering Facilities
Accommodation
on campus is self catering. However, there
are supermarkets within walking distance of
the accommodation including Sainsbury’s
Supermarket, Long’s
Supermarket and Centra (which is open 24 hours).
On campus there are two sandwich bars and a

Parking

I have access to telephones/fax machine? |
Pay
telephones are widely available throughout
the Magee campus. Faxes can be sent from the
INCORE office (an administration fee will be
charged).

Access
to the University's wireless network can be arranged
free of charge.

| What
is the weather like? |
The
weather in the North West of Ireland is quite
variable, even in summer. It can and often
does rain at any time of year so you are advised
to bring a jacket or coat suitable for wet
weather. The temperature in June is unlikely
to exceed 20°C so you should bring warmer
clothes if you are accustomed to warmer temperatures.
