MSc in
Applied Peace and Conflict Studies
The MSc
in Peace and Conflict Studies is an internationally
renowned programme offered by leading academics from INCORE
and is based on the Magee campus in the historic city of Derry/Londonderry,
Northern Ireland. The
course mixes comparative peace and conflict studies with country-
and region-specific focuses, as well as theoretical issues surrounding
peace and conflict study. This programme can be taken in full
(1 year) or part-time (2-3 year) modes.
Distance
Learning Courses
MSc in
Social Research Skills – with
Specialisms
This distance
learning
programme in Social Reseach Skills is delivered by the Faculty
of Social Science at the University of Ulster and includes Pg
Cert, Pg Dip and MSc exit routes. It provides advanced training
in social research skills and policy evaluation in subject areas
informed by social policy concerns. Modules on quantitative and
qualitative methods and policy evaluation form the core of the
programme. Participants in the MSc will also take two specialist
modules. INCORE delivers one of the specialist module on Peace
and Conflict Research in Divided Societies which can be taken
as part of the MSc or as a stand-alone course.
Short
Course in Researching Peace and Conflict in Divided Societies
This 12-week
accredited programme is taught by academic staff at INCORE and
aims to provide an introduction to the key concepts, ideas and
debates in the field of peace and conflict research. The course
also provides an introduction to the key methodological and ethical
issues involved in carrying out research in divided or violent
societies. Classes are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Annual
International Summer School
INCORE's
annual International
Summer School was established in 2000 and has attracted over
500participants to date.
It is an intensive week of training, networking and discussion.
It is facilitated by leading international experts and is aimed
at mid and senior level professionals involved in peace and conflict
research, practice, education and policymaking.
Typically participants
come from academia, the media, non-governmental organizations,
government, international organizations, grassroots and civil
society groups.

Training Courses, Workshops, Seminars
INCORE also
runs various seminars and training courses. A recent highlight
is the three-month Peace and Conflict
Resolution Programme funded by the British Council involving
20 professionals active in media, academia, government, policy
and NGO’s
from five south Asian countries.
