INCORE Research: Governance and Transition

Societies in transition from conflict to a more peaceful situation present real and interesting challenges to systems and structures of governance – new legislation and forms of governance are often introduced and have to be implemented.  Particular issues include human rights, victims, truth recovery and equality.  INCORE is actively involved in research into many of these issues and in partnership with other centres has also examined comparative learning between societies in transition.

INCORE Governance and Transition Research Projects include:

Trauma, development and peacebuilding.
Towards an integrated psychosocial approach. This project will begin in late 2007 and is funded by the International Development Research Centre in Canada. The project will seek to find new ways to conceptualise trauma within the development and peacebuilding context so as to maximise its utility as a practical concept.
